Proposal Development

CADRE provides a combination of technical and administrative support during proposal development. During planning stages, CADRE staff will organize meetings, draft agendas, keep notes/minutes, and track action items and deadlines. CADRE will also coordinate Non-Disclosure Agreements with external partners. During formal proposal development, CADRE staff will draft sections (e.g., specific aims, executive summary, military significance, Statement of Work, and budget justification) based on investigator input, assist with research design considerations, arrange additional technical support (such as biostatical consulting), compile the consolidated budget, complete internal documentation (such as PAFs), generate or edit visuals (e.g., figures, charts, and graphs) and manage the proposal package assembly (including formatting and adhering to file size requirements, etc.).

Post Award Project Management

Following an award, CADRE provides a single point of contact for the sponsor on all technical and financial issues. CADRE monitors the project schedule and budget, completes subcontracts (as needed), coordinates any joint work products (such as monthly technical reports), creates invoices, and generates any specialized content for program reviews (such as quad charts or PowerPoint slides). In cases where controversy arises in terms of data interpretation or other scientific issues, CADRE serves as a mediator among the researchers to find consensus and determine next steps for the project. CADRE will then negotiate changes to the contract, Statement of Work, or deliverables, as necessary. CADRE specializes in proposals for:

  • Department of Defense BAAs
  • NIH Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants
  • Any large-scale, complex, multidisciplinary research effort
