CADRE successfully fosters multidisciplinary research teams who undertake complex projects that address problems from the basic research stage through application and commercialization.

CADRE transforms concept exploration into informed guidance for high-level leaders and decision-makers in the following broad areas:

CADRE strives to identify UIC-based research programs of interest to government agencies, integrate programs throughout the University of Illinois system, and foster collaboration with industry, the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the United States federal government.

CADRE facilitates the transition of applied research prototypes into commercially available products that will reach the hands of end-users and operators.

CADRE enables UIC to provide state-of-the-art equipment, opportunities, and supervision to enhance undergraduate and graduate education. Program funding provides financial support for student workers and research assistants to gain expertise in the development of innovative medical technologies.
